Before they are them

Hi! I am working on four new girlies.  Incase you are wondering, each doll takes me around three hours to make if I make one at a time.  But now, I make batches and I do them over several days and they take a lot less time.  All four are all laid out waiting to be bought to life. I have a small window of time I can sew as my youngest daughter pulls on the machine cords or insists on sitting on my knee, so I have to wait until shes napping or after shes in bed which is when I prefer to sit a relax with my hubby or watch reality television (yes confession time)

Why do they take so long you ask? well im sure after I have made thousands I can just whip them up quick.  But they include alot of thread color changes and little fiddly bits which take up the bulk of the time.  Sewing them together actually takes no time at all, its cutting out the pieces, placing and pinning.  Sometimes I remove their heads two or three times just to get it to sit right!  so after I stock my shop I hope to make a million arms, legs, faces and bodies so I can just put them together whenever I have spare time.

Here is what a doll looks like after all the pattern pieces have been cut.

See ya later!
